The 4Fusion® shape memory quadripodal implant is designed
to give compressive stabilization in 4 - corner fusion
arthrodesis.

Principle of Use/Performance

  • Store in freezer (below 32°F) before use
  • The implant recovers its shape at body temperature
  • After removal from the freezer, the general work time is approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes
  • Supplied in a sterile vacuum package

Brief Technique

  • After the proper excision of the scaphoid, denude the joint spaces of cartilage.
  • Perform a reduction and pin with a K–wire.
  • Utilizing the reamer guide and reamer, prepare the fusion surface.
  • Fill any fusion gaps with cancellous bone graft
  • Use the reamer guide and prepare the holes for the implant legs.
  • Remove the implant from the freezer (work time is 1.5 to 2 minutes).
  • Utilizing the implant support and impactor, insert the implant
  • The implant will compress at body temperature.
