MEMOSTEP™

SHAPE MEMORY - HEAT ACTIVATED FIXATION DEVICE
The MemoStep™ implant is a heat activated compression device specifically designed to cause compression for osteotomies of hindfoot deformities, particularly those of the calcaneus.

Principle of use / Performance:

  • Storage at room temperature
  • Heating of the staple: 30 sec on graduation 50% with a monopolar
    electrical lancet reference Valleylab Force 30.

Advantages:

  • Controlled and lasting compression.
  • Manufactured from heat activated MEMOMETAL® Nitinol
  • 2mm, 4mm, 6mm and 9mm off-sets.
  • Control of the closing time by the surgeon: activation of the
    shape memory by the monopolar electrical lancet.
  • Package support facilitates the insertion.

Surgical Technique:


1. Drill the holes to a 20mm depth referencing the gauged drill and insert the guide pins



2. Remove the guide pins and insert the MemoStep using the support. Remove the support.


3. Impact the MemoStep device using the impactor provided in the ancillary set.


4. Repeat the steps for the adjacent implant, keeping a distance of approximately 10mm between the two implants.
