SHAPE MEMORY QUADRIPODAL IMPLANT

Principle of Use / Performance
- Store in freezer (below 32ºF) before use
- The implant recovers its shape at body temperature
- After removal from the freezer, the general work time is approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes
- Supplied in a sterile vaccum package
Brief Technique
- After the proper excision of the scaphoid, denude the joint spaces of cartilage.
- Perform a reduction and pin with a K–wire.
- Utilizing the reamer guide and reamer, preparethe fusion surface.
- Fill any fusion gaps with cancellous bone graft
- Use the drill guide and prepare the holes for the implant legs.
- Remove the implant from the freezer (work time is 1.5 to 2 minutes).
- Utilizing the implant support and impactor, insert the implant.
- The implant will compress at body temperature.
